About the Community of Bayport
Settled more than 150 years ago, the area that would someday be Bayport was once considered part of St. Croix County, Wisc. Three small villages were located here; Bangor, Baytown and Middletown. In 1873, the Village of South Stillwater was established, encompassing these villages. In 1922, South Stillwater officially became Bayport. Early commercial activities included fur trading, lumber mills, ice cutting, foundry shops, boat manufacturers and river transportation.
